Lessons For All Ages
Kids normally are ready to start piano around 5 or 6 years old, and guitar or bass at 9 years old. Beginner to intermediate students will come away with a weekly regimen of scales, songs, learning to sightread, with some theory and ear training sprinkled in.
Advanced Music Studies
Owner/teacher Ryan Burns specializes in Advanced Jazz Piano studies, which translates to all styles and instruments. This includes building a large vocabulary of chords, understanding harmony, scales, the modes, improvisation, reading lead sheets, group playing concepts, transcribing, and developing maximum facility and technique.
Remote Music Lessons
Zoom lessons have become very popular, and are taught by Burien School of Music in addition to in-person. Lesson materials are sent via email, and multiple cameras are used to maximize visibility for the student to see the instrument up close.
